Ah. So Autumn is here. In the sunshine it’s very warm, but the wind has that chill factor that means the zip on the coat needs fastening and it’s time to check the scarf collection. I love my scarves. I have silky dress scarves which I wear like necklaces (much lighter than beads) and squares that can be worn different ways. I also have traditional scarves – warm wooly ones, extra long ones to wrap round twice, and short ones to just tuck quickly into a jacket. I could almost -only almost – like winter because of my scarves. Enough about them. Where did summer go? And how did it go?
Ditching the fitbit was painless. I didn’t miss it much. I’ve put it back on now, but have to wear the analogue one as well, as the backlight on the fitbit is too dim to see the time or anything much at all. It is recording things ok though and according to those figures I am sleeping better for longer, and my at rest pulse has slowed down which is a good thing.
The scales took quite a bit of recharging and syncing with the app (grr – apps!) but my summer of eat drink and be merry has had no detrimental effect/weight gain. Of course I have also been swimming twice a week, but otherwise things/diet/exercise have been normal. The swimming and spa/jacuzzi has been beneficial for both of us for our joints too. So when the three months was up, we decided to extend for a furhter three months and see how we might persevere with the routine in the colder weather. Having each other’s encouragement to get out of the door and go is important. I really didn’t fancy it today but I’m so glad we went. It was very refreshing – not that it was cold in the pool – just gives a healthy feeling that seems to last for ages afterwards.
Heres a couple of paintings. Acrylic. Framed. The Left one is currently in our Raven Gallery in an open exhibition running from 13th October to 12th November.

I’ve also painted a sylohette Whitby Castle, and a heron on River Weaver…
Oh yes we went on two little mini breaks. One to Manchester and the Anderton boat lift, and one to North Yorkshire Knaresbrough, Middleton Tyas, Bedale, Ripon. Squeezed a lot in – I’ll do a seperate post. I’m having trouble loading photos from phone to computer so must get top side of that (grr – technology)
Books.. not read much – but more about that later.
