Watching the sunrise
Over the terraced houses
Beyond my garden
I had intended
To go up the avenue
For a better view
But at six thirty
It was cold and clouds were grey
And I didn’t go
Such sunrise surprise
As the sky turned so quickly
To orange delight
So this afternoon
I will walk the other way
And catch the sunset
I don’t like winter
But the sunrise and sunset
Cheer me ev’ry day.
