Happy Easter

It’s been a busy, and sometimes difficult few weeks.

Updating my page here is not always forefront of my agenda.

Bowling has been great fun. I’ve painted some decent pictures (greek scenes, copied from a travel brochure) which I will add here when I remember to upload them.

Household – we defrosted both our freezers.

Garden – we repaired the fence that blew down in storm Dudley/Eunice. We have fence paint ready.

We celebrated two family birthdays, and Mother’s day. We said goodbye to my dear brother Richard.

I’ve completed, edited, changed and re-edited a new poetry collection which is now (currently)  called New Normal. Here’s a sneek view of the title poem.

New Normal

No more isolation

No more quarantine

We have our passport

We’ve had the vaccine

We’ve shopped on line

Stayed in our room

Worked at home

And met on Zoom,

Like flu and the common cold

Covid’s here to stay

Let’s walk together

Into New Normal

Today

I am still hovering about whether to get the booklet actually printed or to just share it on this web site. Keeping it on line means it is free for anyone to view, (and cost free for me, too)  but only accessable  if you have the internet facilities. Many of my readers would find access difficult. I also think (and I think other poets would agree) that poetry is best held in a book, that can be read at leisure. There is so much to be said about handling books, savouring the written word on pages that can be turned,  – I should perhaps write a poem about it!

And now Easter is here. A spell of lovely warm weather helped with the fence repairs which are ongoing. The fence opposite my kitchen window will be replaced with an artwork – possibly of sunflowers – which I will undertake after a little practice session on a smaller scale.

The week ahead holds new adventures.
