The autumn equinox has made it’s mark
The summer’s almost over once again
And so there’ll be less daylight and more dark
The Clouds will hide the sun. There’ll be more rain
The wind will blow. The leaves will start to fall
In vibrant shades to keep our spirits high
And some will say this season’s best of all –
While others mourn the summer passing by
The drawing back of curtains makes no sense
This dismal season chills me to my core
And turning back an hour can’t recompense
It only makes the days drag even more
I’ve always hated winter, dark and cold
So don’t say it’s because I’m getting old
